SUMMER DAY CAMP PROGRAM
Healthy Kidz, Inc.
Healthy Kidz is a non-profit organization committed to successfully motivating, educating, and developing youth to use their skills and talents in a safe and nurturing environment. We are committed to empowering young black men and women to become community educators and leaders. Healthy Kidz provides a mentoring program through our summer day camp program for Junior Counselors (age 14) and Counselors in Training (age 13). The program teaches teens how to work and communicate with younger children. Our camp directors train for leadership through the Annual Summer Day Camp. We encourage these participants to seek a career in education as an essential and valuable endeavor and that their work in the program provides opportunities to serve as near-peer instructors. Twenty past participants have gone on to careers in education over the 30+ years of Healthy Kidz. Healthy Kidz Inc. is dedicated to working with the community, its leaders, and educators to ensure that the youth of the City of Detroit have an opportunity beyond their imagination while positively impacting all children.
